In the summer of 2020, with the COVID restrictions in place and for the first time in 14 years I was not able to enjoy my passion of playing racquetball. Luckily, I stumbled upon pickleball by complete accident when a member of our racquetball group recommended we give it a try as it would give us something to enjoy until the restrictions were lifted. Like most racquetball players, pickleball to me seemed very elementary and rather slow/boring. However, after a trip to the local challenge court setup, I was very quickly humbled by advanced players and developed a new respect for the necessary skills to play at a high level. After a few months of goofing around and not taking the game very seriously, I decided to dedicate some time to practice and shortly after I began progressing rather quickly. All of the sudden, the game began to “make sense”. After playing for countless hours and many months I was taken in by local advanced groups and given the opportunity to excel. Fast forward a few months of high level play, competition and hard work, I now find myself competing at the highest level. As this game gets younger and faster, I find that there is a void of coaches who can demonstrate and teach the necessary skills to be competitive in today’s player pool. As someone who competed and coached for over a decade and truly has a love for racquet/paddle sports, I want to offer my coaching services to see more players advance and have fun doing so.
